Maintenance
Maintaining your Odin Assemble based web-site is easy. Once installed the pre-defined directory structure keeps your elements, pages and templates neat and tidy. The main maintenance concern for any Odin Assemble site owner is the flushing of the data directory.
Flushing the Data Directory
While not required, Odin Assemble can make use of both PEAR Cache_Lite and the Magpie parser. Odin Assemble directs both extensions to use the /data directory for storage of all cached data. This directory can, over a period of time, grow to a healthy size. To flush the data directory delete all files in your /data directory.
Because Odin Assemble does not include an administrative utility there is no pre-built process fro flushing the data directory. There is however a freely available "Element" that completes this task. By allowing each site owner to set a unique address for their cache purge function we're trying to prevent any single Odin Assemble web-site from a denial of service style attack.
To prevent any malicious attempts to modify this specific "Element," it is only available in compiled form.
