Installation
To ease the installation of Odin Assemble we've created a server side installer. Similar to the Odin Assemble core, for security purposes, the installer is a closed source, compiled with ionCube application.
To run the Odin Assemble installer as well as Odin Assemble you will need to install the correct ionCube loader for your PHP version and operating system (if your server administrator has not already installed it server wide).
Install the correct ionCube Loader
ionCube provides free direct downloads for all available versions of their loaders. IonCube offers an on-line loader installation guide to help you through this process.
Install the Odin Assemble Installer
Download the Odin Assemble Installer and then upload it (in binary mode) to the root of your web-server. After you've uploaded the file, visit the install.php script with your browser:
The installer will guide you through a concise installation process which allows you to select your desired components, configure basic settings and automatically download Odin Assemble from our servers.
Once you've completed the installation process Odin Assemble is now installed on your server. Please take note of the following directories created by the installer:
- /elements
- /pages
- /templates
If you selected more then the Odin Assemble core in the installation process you may have additional directories, but the three above mentioned are key directories with-in the Odin Assemble framework.
After you've successfully installed Odin Assemble your next step will be to create "pages." If you have yet to review our how it works area, it is highly recommended. The how it works area provides a good overview of basic Odin Assemble concepts.
